Stacey Helley

Mezzo-soprano | D.M.A. Early Music Vocal Performance

Stacey holds a D.M.A. in Early Music Vocal Performance from USC’s Thornton School of Music where she minored in Vocal Pedagogy, Musicology, and Opera Directing. In 2014, she won the Presser Graduate for a (soon to be released) recording of the monody of Antonio Cifra (1584–1629). Her Masters thesis, “Laryngeal Height as Seen in Modern and Historical Vocal Treatises, and Instructional Literature on Historical Performance Practice” can be viewed on ProQuest and Academia.edu along with several articles and conference papers. She is in her third season singing with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. 

Favolare Ensemble is her fledgling early music group that explores early Baroque vocal repertoire. Watch for the new website soon.
